Clinical Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Facilities
Willing to Treat Brain Injured Service Members
Effective Date: August 24, 2009
Following is a list of clinical hyperbaric oxygen facilities that have expressed a willingness to treat returning brain injured service members. Most of the facilities are willing to treat the service members at reduced cost, and some are willing to offer the treatment pro bono subject to limitations on quantity. Hyperbaric medicine is delivered 10,000 times per day at 800 locations in the nation.
The following two clinic physicians serve as the principle investigators on the Brain Injury Rescue and Rehabilitation Project. All DoD personnel and veterans treated should be coordinated through the BIRR project and receive the pre and post testing and same treatment protocol so that the results will be valid scientific evidence. Clinical results DO NOT COUNT as scientific medical evidence. Properly gathered data can be presented and published to demonstrate effectiveness so this treatment can become standard of care. That will help the patients treated, and untold millions who remain untreated for their acute and chronic brain injuries.
